Ephylone: The New Designer Drug Rage

There are many people across the globe who prefer to use designer drugs to experience a certain high in their life. These substances induce a certain state within them that they like.

There are a lot of different designer drugs available in the market. However, one particular drug called Ephylone has picked up some steam. It has become a substance that everybody wants to use and feel the effect. It has become an enigma in the world of designer drugs.

What is Ephylone?

Ephylone or popularly known as bk-EBDP is a chemical compound that is classified as a stimulant. It is a psychoactive drug and belongs to the chemical class of phenethylamine. Chemicals from this class usually act as an entactogen, psychedelic, and a stimulant. It is the N-ethyl analog of 1,3-benzodioxolylpentanamine.

The drug appears in a cystal form. These crystals are often large in size.

What are the Effects of Ephylone?

The effects of the drug identified for 100 mg consumption can be classified in two broad categories. There are physical effects of the drug and cognitive effects.

  • Physical Effects

The most common physical effect of this drug is described as a body high. It is a sudden tingling sensation that spreads through the entire body. It starts slow at the onset and then hits a peak. The sensation can be highly pleasurable when the drug is consumed at higher dose.

Since, the drug is highly stimulating it can cause a person to feel a burst of energy. This can cause a person to engage in more physical activity like running, hiking, rock climbing, etc.

If the drug is taken in higher doses, it can cause a blurred vision. It can make a person’s eyeballs constantly move back and forth which can cause unsteady vision and can even cause them to lose focus.

Another effect of the drug is dehydration. Since the drug is a stimulant it causes a person to engage in extreme physical activity that causes feeling of dry mouth and dehydration.

While on one hand it causes a person to feel dehydrated, on the other hand it can make the person feel some sort of difficulty in urinating. This can typically happen when the drug is consumed in higher doses.

  • Cognitive Effects

The drug is known to cause a strong emotional euphoria in a person. It heightens the feelings of love, empathy, or happiness. However, it can also cause a person to feel extreme anxiety or fatigue.

Another interesting effect that people have reported is the feeling of time acceleration. In a normal mental state, we experience time at a certain pace. However, due to the drug, a person starts feeling like the time has accelerated and an hour is getting squeezed into minutes. It also causes a person to start experiencing distortions in the thought process or even deceleration of thoughts.

The drug takes 30-45 minutes to onset, the effects last for 2 to 4 hours, and the after effects last for 6 to 24 hours.
