Angela

Angela was born and raised in MI, but in her words, “…is working on becoming a southern belle.”  She has a bachelor’s degree in Health Care Administration.  Her husband, Tom, is a retired Marine and they have 3 wonderful boys.  She enjoys reading, writing, photography, and is a soccer mom extraordinaire.  She has worked for years with many different nonprofit organizations and has experience in event planning and fund raising.  She learned at an early age, from her mother and grandmother, how to lend a helping hand to others in a time of need, by offering support, an ear to listen, or a hot meal.  Her passion and personal mission in life is to further this legacy by sharing the love of Jesus with those she meets.

New Hope is her home, from her heart, and she wants to give back to it now for her own children and others, so they will always have an appreciation for their small town roots. Reflecting on her own values of faith, love and hope, she sees this community being an essential part of that. She feels being a member of the CARE Center team has allowed her to hold herself accountable to help improve the future success of the youth here. She believes keeping the lines of communication open with a positive emphasis on school and the importance of graduation is vital to the success of New Hope. An education is something that can never be taken away and her daily goal is to ensure that each child at New Hope attains their educational opportunities.

Andrea

Andrea Moody Bridges is a lifelong resident of Owens Cross Roads.  She is a 3rd generation alumni and graduate of New Hope High School.  She, along with her husband Kevin and two children Wesley and Alex, are very involved with their church family at Owens Cross Roads Church of Christ. They also enjoy working in the mission field--both locally and abroad, they enjoy attending both NHHS and U of A football games and NHHS and Braves baseball games, and traveling across this beautiful country!
 
Andrea loves to help and encourage those around her.  She loves being able to be the hands and feet of our Savior.  This is one of the main reasons she came to be a part of the CARE Center.  She loves that the CARE Center is here to give our neighbors the resources they need to develop and discover their own God given talents.  She loves being involved with NHES because we all know that the children are our future.  The majority of the groundwork for our future is laid in elementary schools across America each and every day.  Andrea feels completely blessed and honored to have the opportunity to assist and encourage faculty and staff at NHES.

Angi

Angi grew up Ann Arbor, MI and is an avid Michigan fan.  She attended Eastern Michigan University, earned a BS and Marketing Degree, and met her husband, Eric.  Angi spent seven years in the textbook publishing industry until her first daughter, Alexis was born.  In 1997 the Vroom’s moved to Huntsville and were blessed with a second daughter, Grace.  In 2004 Angi published a children’s story “Airplane Letter’s to God.”  She has been a children’s Sunday school education coordinator and a high school small group leader. As a member of Cove Church, Angi learned about the CARE Center and in 2008 began volunteering in the tutoring program.

As the CARE Center’s grant writer, Angi has used her training in marketing and writing to win grants which support supplemental education programs as well as other CARE Center missions.   The CARE Center has provided Angi with the opportunity to combine all her passions: sharing the love of Christ, writing, helping others, and being a voice for those that would otherwise have no voice.  She feels it is both a blessing and an honor to work alongside others who share this passion.

Chaundra

Chaundra earned a Bachelor of Art in Social Work from Alabama A & M University.  She hold a License to practice social work-Alabama State Board of Social Work Examiners and has over 20 years of experience in youth development.  Chaundra is actively involved in children's church and youth ministry at her local church.  Her philosophy of youth development is that she believes that wherever hearts are generous and open minds abound; a teacher can be found. 

Chaundra’s favorite bible verse is, Proverbs 3:5-6, Trust in the LORD with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding;  in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight.

Annie

Annie Keel has been the CARE Center Thrift Store Manager since 2010. She was born and raised in New Hope, AL and attended New Hope School.  Later, she graduated from the University of Alabama in Huntsville with a B.S. in Nursing.  Her passion is to help others and make a difference within the community.  As a dedicated employee of 2 years at The CARE Center, she feels privileged to reach out and help someone who is hurting spiritually or physically by providing a kind word or simply just listening.  She radiates the love of Jesus with those who she meets.
